S&W M&P Shield EZ M2.0 cast breech face insert?
«

I received a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield EZ M2.0 for NIBIN today and noticed the breech face is an insert in the slide that looks like it has a cast line.
Has anyone found out how these are being manufactured?

During a tour of the S&W factory in June of 2019 we were told that the breech face insert on the M&P EZ was MIMed, tumbled, heat treated, and then black oxide coated.
