A-T Solutions is currently seeking a Firearms and Tool Mark Examiner based in Ft. Gillem, GAMay be required to travel OCONUS (as needed)Clearance: SECRETResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine evidence and forensic materials and render all items safe
- Document and report results of examinations and perform peer reviews
- Interact and collaborate with other group/team members and other forensic staff to ensure a high quality and accurate product
- Examiners will provide training and mentorship to provide a highly trained staff
- Perform forensic examination of tool marks on a wide variety of weapons and IED related evidence
Requirements:
- 5 years expereince in firearm and toolmark examination to include at the following: Examination of lead and other metal fragments, examination and microscopic comparison of bullets, ammunition components, and firearms, examination of tool marks as having been produced by a particular tool, shot pattern examinations, gunshot residue examinations, trajectory analysis and collection, preservation, and processing of evidence and event reconstruction.
- Degree from an accredited college or university in physical or life sciences preferred and may be used in lieu of one year of experience.
- One (1) year of experience as the lead of a team of firearms and tool mark analysts.
- Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally as a team member.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, excel spreadsheets.
- Experience working with an OIF/OEF Laboratory, TEDAC facility, or other NGIC, DoD or ATF Lab; interagency or state/local law enforcement forensics labs preferred
Certifications and Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to successfully pass all medical requirements for deployment
- Must be able to successfully pass a skills assessment
- U.S. citizenship
- Valid US Passport that will not expire throughout deployment
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
