The Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division has an opening for a Laboratory Technician I in the Firearm and Toolmark Unit.
The main purpose of this position is to process crime evidence and test fires for entry into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive (BATFE) National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) database. Other duties include daily usage of the Laboratory Information System, assistance with inventory and other quality control measures and communication with outside agency representatives in reference to NIBIN entries and case status.
