Title: A graduating graduate student with a MS in Forensic Science needs a job
Post by: AdamWolff on December 07, 2007, 12:42:20 AM
Hi everyone.  It seems this section of the forums is not being used anymore, so I figure I will give it a shot.

I am graduating this December with a Masters of Science in Forensic Science and would love to work in a firearm and toolmark unit in a crime lab.  I had a previous internship in the firearm and toolmark unit here in Miami, Florida and enjoyed it a lot.  My main task was to categorize .44 and .45 casings.  I even created a searchable database on excel that lets a user choose certain aspects of an unknown casing and it will show you what casing it might be along with a photograph.

I do not mind relocating at all and already have applied to a few jobs on the aafs website.  I would love to start asap as well.

Thank you for looking

Adam

Adam, we have 2 new positions for trainees or experienced Examiners posted on our web site - www.txdps.state.tx.us. One is in El Paso and is closing on 12-11-2007. The other is in Lubbock and I believe is open until 12-27-2007. We have just filled 4 new positions and will have 2 or 3 more in the near future. Watch our web site and click on "Employment".

Merry Christmas to All!

Hello there!
We have an opening here in SC for a trainee or experienced examiner.  You can read about it here (http://www.ohr.sc.gov/OHR/OHR-jobs-portal-index.phtm) on the state job website.

Best of luck!  O0

Hi Michele,

I already applied to there as well on Nov 26th, looks like I am keeping up to date on all of the openings.  Now to just wait patiently for a call from somewhere  :D

Thanks again,

Adam

Hi Adam

Did you see the post for the WSP lab in Seattle?

http://careers.wa.gov/
http://www.wsp.wa.gov/hrd/forensic.htm

Good group of people in the lab, great firearms examiner in Rick W., close to Mariners and Seahawks Stadiums - but no basketball team anymore  :'(

Don't give up!
