Kansas City Mo Police Crime Laboratory
Kansas City, Missouri
Salary range: $3280-$5723 monthly

Job Description:
Conducts physical and microscopic examinations of firearms and firearms related evidence in a scientific and legally accepted manner in the laboratory or the field; prepares written reports of results for presentation in court. Familiar with the operation of the Integrated Ballistics identification System (IBIS). Perform technical/administrative reviews of casework. Render credible expert witness testimony in depositions and in a court of law. Provides instruction in forensic science topics to law enforcement personnel and assists in crime scene investigations. Assists in training new criminalists and area investigators. Serves as a liaison between the police department, the laboratory, and the community through speeches, presentations, and demonstrations.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Possess a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a physical science.
Experience in the forensic firearms field preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
Must pass a background investigation, polygraph test and drug screen.
Once hired must submit a DNA standard for elimination purposes.
