Position:
Firearms Examiner III (entry level)
Starting Salary Range:$3,414-$5,980 (monthly)
                      or
Firearms/Toolmark Examiner IV
Starting Salary Range: $3,694-$6,470 (monthly)
Location: Kansas City, Missouri


The Kansas City Mo. Police Crime Laboratory is seeking a qualified applicant for a position in the Firearm/Toolmark Section. The major duties include examining firearms for proper function; microscope comparison of bullets and cartridge cases; serial number restoration; GSR examination of clothing associated with firearms cases; toolmark examinations and NIBIN. Other duties may be assigned based upon the qualifications of the successful applicant.


Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemistry,biology, criminalistics/forensic science, natural science or any other closely related field with laboratory science coursework. At least three years of experience in Forensic Firearms/Toolmark casework is preferred however will accept entry level applicants as well.
