As previously posted several months ago, Ron Smith & Associates, Inc. has been working diligently for quite some time to construct the framework for a new Firearms Examiner Training Academy to supplement what is already available from ATF. This has been a significant endeavor but things are now starting to fall in place for this project to take flight. We have the facility, the funding sources for the equipment, the majority of the instructors needed to teach the various modules and we have almost all of the personnel infrastructure to manage this academy, with one exception. We are looking for a Director of Training to become the daily supervisor and mentor for the students who are in attendance. This person must be a well qualified and nationally recognized firearms examiner, who is certified by AFTE, or who can become certified in a short period of time.  When not working directly with the students, this person will also handle incoming firearms examination cases in the RS&A ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Collinsville, MS.  This is a full time position with RS&A and hopefully will be the last position you ever have to apply for in your career. Our job is to make it the best job you have ever had.  If you are interested in discussing this position, send your CV to Ron Smith at ron@ronsmithandassociates.com and expect a phone call in no more than a couple of days. We are looking for a very special person for this job and will not accept anything less than the best. Salary and benefits are negotiable.

Well here it is December 3rd and I have not gotten any confirmed candidates yet. If you are tired of working for the government and just want to be in a position where you make the calls without having to go through all the usual government B__, then this is the job for you. You direct the academy, work cases and supervise other FA examiners on off site projects and otherwise become the firearms guru for RS&A. You attend AFTE conference every year and serve on any national or international boards you desire. You get more days off than you will ever take. It is definitely a "one of a kind job". Give it some thought and call me at 866-832-6772.  Ron Smith
