The Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division has an opening for a Forensic Scientist I (trainee) in the Firearm and Toolmark Unit. 


The main purpose of this position is the functional testing of firearms.  This testing includes serial number restoration, NIBIN database entries, microscopic and chemical analysis of evidence related to firearms and shot pattern testing.  Also included are toolmark examinations, report writing, and court testimony.
