Wanted: Trained examiner in South Carolina!
« on: August 26, 2022, 09:13:57 AM »
Help wanted in SC!
Recently, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) issued a job posting for a firearm examiner position.  Preferably, we would like a trained examiner to step in, learn the policies and procedures, and join our team.  While being fully trained is preferred, those that are not trained are eligible and welcome to apply.  The hiring salary range can be found on the job posting; however, those numbers are negotiable if you are already trained and working “on the bench.”

By the time the new examiner or trainee completes the hiring process and comes onboard, we will have moved into our brand new, state-of-the-art Forensic Laboratory, complete with a cafeteria, locker rooms, and workout facility!

The cost of living in SC is relatively low when compared to other surrounding states and the nation, as a whole.  Columbia, where the Laboratory is located, is the State Capital and is only two hours away from Charleston and other beaches in one direction and the mountains in the other direction.  Close to our Lab, there are lake living options, as well as other outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, water sports).  There are many towns and cities within 30 minutes of Columbia that offer extremely affordable housing options.
Feel free to contact me with any questions! :-00
