Please see the link above for the Firearms Unit Supervisor posting at our Bridgeport lab. This unit currently has two examiners, one technician and two examiner trainees. The trainees are in an external training program but the supervisor is expected to oversee their success on days they are not in the training.

Bridgeport is the unit with the highest case submission and largest backlog in Michigan.

The Firearms Unit also responds to crime scenes and the Bridgeport lab has the highest number of crime scenes.

Someone filling this position must be highly motivated, cannot not be overwhelmed by large backlogs and will excel in case management.

If you have any questions about the position, feel free to reach out to me (517-282-8134). There is a quick turn around on this - close date 3/2/23. Also, though it does not seem clear by the wording, this is open to external applicants.
