Worldwide


International Resource Group (IRG), a professional services firm located in Washington, DC, is currently seeking qualified international FIREARMS EXAMINERS for up to 1-year assignments.  Programs are funded by both US and foreign government agencies.     
   
Responsibilities:  Provides training and assistance with the following tasks:
-       Preparing specimens for lab analysis
-   Administering and conducting tests while examining and evaluating results afterwards
-   Gathering, preserving and storing evidence; maintaining integrity of evidence through appropriate collection, handling,          security and chain of custody
-   Examining, classifying and comparing fingerprints
-   Writing and drafting technical reports, articles and related material based on research, investigation or analysis
-   Managing trial exhibits and evidence
-   Delivering presentations, training and instruction to staff
-   Operating, maintaining, calibrating and adjusting specialized equipment
-   Reviews and end inspection of work for quality, accuracy and completeness

Requirements: Spoken and written fluency in English required.  Candidates must have a minimum of five to ten years of relevant professional experience in forensics and be a certified Firearms and Toolmark Examiner.    Must have necessary knowledge and experience to provide training in:
-   Identification and comparison of firearms, ammunition and ammunition components
-   Laboratory techniques used in analysis of firearms and ammunition chemical tests for distance determination
-   Serial number restoration
-   Applying the principles of external and terminal ballistics to crime scenes
-   Training in the IBIS system, laboratory and firearms safety

Trinidad & Tobago!!!!

From IRG for those who might now be interested.

"Right now we are looking to fill 2 positions for Firearms Examiners in
Trinidad & Tobago with their Ministry of National Security.  It is a
1-year commitment in that country with a housing allowance of $1200 per
month, storage of Household Effects of $350 per month, shipment of
personal effects of up to $5000 each way, fully covered health insurance
benefits (AETNA International) and life insurance.  Compensation will be
based on your salary history and is of course negotiable.  We are
looking to fill this position immediately."
