Supervising Position at Alameda County
« on: February 13, 2007, 07:24:32 PM »
For Valentines day I get to apply for my position.

We are announcing a Supervising Criminalist Position.  It's the position I am currently holding as an acting supervisor.  This is not specifically for firearms, though if a firearms examiner gets the position the position will remain in the firearms, latent prints, and GSR section.  It's a pretty easy unit to supervise consisting of three criminalists (4 if you include me) and one technician with the breakdown as follows:  1 FA examiner (me) doing FA work, 1 FA examiner only doing GSR, 1 FA trainee trying to validate Draeger, 1 Crim training in SEM/GSR and doing FP, and 1 NIBIN tech.  The unit has the biggest backlog in the lab with almost 400 cases, 300 if you don't include fingerprints.

There's a lot of changes going on in the lab right now.  We are getting a new Lab Director and have a new command staff from Captain all the way up to Sheriff.

You can get more info by checking out the county website @ acgov.org or you can give me a call with questions.
