Some FA/TM Examiners will not meet the eligibility requirements to register for the tuition free courses.

Quote
Eligibility:  Registrant must be (one of the following):

A sworn law enforcement officer, or

A civilian employed by a bonifide law enforcement agency, or

An active duty or active duty reservist member of the United
    States armed forces, or

A security officer who is certified by their state to carry armed.

Additionally, he/she must have successfully passed a recognized law enforcement firearm instructor course, is currently certified to teach law enforcement firearm training, and whose position requires them to perform armorer related work within their organization.

After looking at the registration requirements, I thought others might like to know this information.

I know that if you are employed by a LE Agency that's good enough.  You don't have to be an Agency Armorer or Firearms Instructor, Firearms Examiner is good to go.

Bill,

Thanks for clarifying that.  O0

I wasn't going to register due to the additional requirements listed.

I'm doing contract work in D.C. right now and staying virtually across the street from NRA headquarters.  My place is just off of Waple Mills Road.  There is plenty of lodging in that area of Fairfax but the daily rate can be pricy.  The place I'm using is a Candlewood Suites.  They've given me an $89 per night rate . . . but that applies to stays of 7 days or more.  I don't have any trouble meeting that stipulation but some of you might if you end up attending one of the courses.

Bill,

Thank you very much for posting the information regarding the tuition free armorer's courses.

I received an email today stating that I was selected to attend the Ruger P-Series Pistol/Mini-14/30 Rifle armorer school tuition free.

I encourage others to also register for the tuition free armorer's courses.

Thanks again. O0 O0

I was unable to attend the Ruger course that I was selected for due to a conflicting commitment.

I went to the link that Bill provided and saw that there are courses currently listed through December 2008.  I thought others might like to know that new courses are being added on a continuing basis.
