The ATF Lab in Ammendale, Maryland (DC area) has an opening for Pay Band 1 IBIS Tech.

JOB SUMMARY:
Marketing Statement

In 2007, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
(ATF) was ranked as one of the top 15 places to work in the Federal
government and one of the top law enforcement agencies!  ATF is
looking for energetic, innovative, solution-oriented professionals to
help the ATF team succeed in our responsibilities to reduce violent
crime and protect the public.
 
This position is located in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives, Office of Science and Technology, National Laboratory
Center, Forensic Science Laboratory-Washington, Beltsville, MD.

The incumbent uses the Integrated Ballistic Identification System
(IBIS) or other ballistic imagining equipment to examine physical
evidence associated with firearms investigations.  This is the entry
to developmental level for the IBIS Specialist.  The incumbent will
receive formal instruction and on-the-job training assignments to
develop knowledge and understanding of the applicable principles. 
Additional training will be provided so that the incumbent will be
able to safely test fire a variety of firearms and identify
ammunition and ammunition components.
 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to successfully pass appropriate security clearance.
Subject to a 5-year periodic reinvestigation.
Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test.
Two forms of acceptable personal identification.
Travel and relocation expenses are not authorized and will not be paid.
