Firearms Examiner, Washington State Patrol
FS1 (pay range 44) - $35,040 – $45,828  (entry level/trainee)
FS2 (pay range 50) - $40,524 – $53,148  (some casework)
FS3 (pay range 60) - $51,864 – $68,016  (complex casework)

We are seeking to hire a Firearms Examiner (trainee or practicing) for the Seattle Crime Laboratory, with preferred consideration to an experienced person. The section in Seattle is starting essentially from the ground up with two other enthusiastic trainees starting in fall.

Forensic Scientist 1 (open) - Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor of science degree in forensic science or a natural science, which includes a minimum of 20 semester hours or 30 quarter hours of chemistry, and 5 semester or 8 quarter hours of physics; and
Desirable: One year of full-time paid technical experience in an analytical, research, or crime laboratory. Note: An advanced degree in forensic science or a natural science will substitute for one year of experience in an analytical, research, or crime laboratory.
