Firearm/Tool Mark Examiner Novi Sad, Serbia
« on: October 06, 2010, 08:37:35 AM »
AFTE members. My name is Chris Bily and I work for the West Virginia University Forensic Science Initiative. There is a student in the Forensic and Investigative Sciences Program here that will be studying in Novi Sad, Serbia for three months this summer. She would like to accumulate some contact hours with a Firearm/Toolmark examiner while she’s there. Does anyone know of an examiner in this area that might be able to help her out? If you do, can you please post a name and an e-mail link? Thank you!

If you don't get something better, try to get ahold of Don Wyckoff of ASCLD/LAB.  He spent some time there a few years back and may know someone in the field to contact.  Drop my name (he was my first boss out of grad. school) and if that doesn't work, offer him some fortune cookies and he'll probably help you out!  Here's contact info. from the web site:

I have contacts in Croatia. It is likely that they can get in touch with a Serbian lab. Send me a PM if you want me to inform for you.

Chris,

Here is the contact information for two firearm examiners that work for the Serbian Government lab.

Dejan   Belic
Stojan Kostic

I'm sure they would be very happy to hear from your student on her trip.  Have her tell them I gave her their name.  She'll either be quickly deported or they will give her the grand tour. ;)

Oops, forgot this was on the public forum.  I will send you a PM with their email addresses.
