The following opportunity exists at the Vermont Department of Public Safety:

Director – Vermont Forensic Laboratory
Waterbury, VT

As the Director of the Vermont Forensic Laboratory, you will have direct oversight of professional, technical, and administrative employees within the lab. Your primary mission is to manage the scientific and administrative functions and personnel within the Vermont Forensic Lab, as well as to coordinate laboratory services with the needs of Vermont’s criminal justice community.   You will be responsible for planning and developing both short and long range goals and objectives for the lab, and recommending courses of action, funds, equipment, and personnel necessary to achieve these goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in a natural or physical science discipline, as well as seven years of professional forensic laboratory experience performing chemical, biological, or physical comparison duties, at least three years of which must be in a supervisory or management capacity.
