My supervisor is in need of some numbers with regards to number of firearms examiners in different locations around the country/world, and the population size they serve. In addition it would be interesting to find out what are the standard duties of those firearms examiners.
So if you could take a moment, and one person per agency reply to the following questions, it would be greatly appreciated:
1) Name of your agency.
2) How many firearms examiners does your agency employ?
3) How many police officers does your agency employ/your lab provide service for?
4) What is the civilian population size of the area you provide service for?
5) Do your firearms examiners do NIBIN entry, or a lab technician? If a lab technician, how many?
6) Do your firearms examiners screen evidence for trace (fibers/hairs/glass/blood/tissue etc.)?
7) Do your firearms examiners collect cellular material (DNA swabs) on all/some submitted evidence?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
