Toolmark Pattern Identification Study
« on: May 28, 2014, 11:04:47 AM »
The following is posted on behalf of Bill Matty:

I am assisting a NY state high school student with a school project. He is involved in a rather sophisticated program sponsored by Intel where students do a scientific study of their choosing.

He is interested in forensic science and has developed a survey to assess a person’s ability to recognize toolmark patterns. The test is to be taken by both professionals in the field (that would be you) and non-professionals. The data evaluation will assess the test subject’s pattern recognition ability in light of their background in the field, or lack thereof.

I would consider it a personal favor if you would complete the survey/test. It should take well under 30 minutes to complete and you remain anonymous in this.

I’m not sure how your government computers will deal with this, but give it a try.

Also, feel free to forward this to co-workers, family, or friends.

Thank you.
