I regret that my German is not very good, but I spent several years in that area. I went to Trier several times, and enjoyed my time there very much. I was in the US Army stationed in Baumholder and Bad Kreuznach. I spent my last 7 to 8 years in the army in Bad Kreuznach, and I do miss the place and my German friends sometimes.

Hello, yes, this isnīt too far away from my place. Unfortunatelly now the housings in Bad kreuznach are closed and Baumholder is already scaled down. I do not know, if it survives as army station. Most of the things are now concentrated in Spangdahlen AFB and the Ramstein Area (roughly 50km nearby) with the main AFB Ramstein and the at moment completely full Army-Hospital due to the war.
Anyway, if you come ones back to my area in Germany, give me a notice in advance and I will show you (if not already done by you) the roman buildings left from the 1. to the 3.century here. Most of them in good condition.
And the best joke, or answer I got from an american is this:
As I explained ones, that the romans build in Trier (Augusta Treverorum) first the Amphit-Theatre with 30.000 places in the beginning of the 1. century, before they made up the townwalls, he replied: See, thats the same as the Airforce. Before they make the airfield, they do the Golf-Course...
Thanks for your reply and I hope, you (and all) can use some of my info on ammo.
