I have two of these cartridge cases and need help identifying them. The factory code appear to fall within the People republic of China known factory codes, any suggestions? .

161 seems not to be a factory number. 06 seems to be the year 2006.
All source we have are confident that it this headstamp is made in Iran.
I have see a version with 05 and 181
as well as other combinations

I agree with the Iran. Here are a couple more. No one is quite sure what the 161, etc, represents.

I have seen loads of Iranian headstamps on 762x39 in the past basically what you find is the farsi writing on them "saezman sanaye3 al difa3" SASED in arabic letters
it could be that the iranian are making other headstamps for export.
