Interesting Bullet

Jill Therriault:
Does Hornady sell their bullets to Starline to load into their cartridges?  The reason I ask is this:

Yesterday, my colleagues and I were doing some test firing into pig skin for the medical examiner for a case.  The ammo we used was Hornady 45-70 Gov't, 325 gr. "LeveRevolution" JHP's, with the kind with the little red nubby insert in the hollow point cavity.  After a few shots, we noticed these little star shapes in the mannequin's face.  Looks remarkably like the star shape of your bullet.  We also found one of the red inserts on the ground after shooting.  After 9 shots, that was the only one we recovered.  See attached photos.

I wonder if your bullet is a 9mm Hornady bullet, minus the insert??

Edit:  the 3rd photo I added is a live cartridge after I pulled the insert out with pliers
