Kimber R7 Mako breech face insert?
« on: January 03, 2022, 12:30:14 PM »
In the October 2021 Guns and Ammo issue, there is an article titled “Baby Shark” by Jeremy Stafford that summarized the Kimber R7 Mako pistol.
In the article there are photos of the underside of the slide, and I see what appears to be a breech face insert. The article also states that the internal extractor is “located in a sub-assembly that is held in place by a roll-pin” (p.49).
I am wondering if anyone has seen one of these pistols yet to determine if this is potentially a MIM breech face insert like a previous Smith and Wesson EZ model pistol I have seen.
Attached are some bad photographs of the photographs from the article.
