Future opening: Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences

There will be an opening soon with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Birmingham Regional Laboratory.  Experienced and new/trainees applicants welcome to apply.  If interested, please send your resume to either Adam Grooms, adam.grooms@adfs.alabama.gov or Erica Lawton, erica.lawton@adfs.alabama.gov.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S):
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited* college or university with a major in Chemistry, Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Medical Technology, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Genetics, Physics, Toxicology, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics or closely related field.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENT(S):
• Two (2) years of scientific laboratory experience in conducting lab work within an accredited forensic laboratory to include documented progress and/or completion of a forensic laboratory training program.

We have three FATM laboratories within the state and eleven people that make up the FATM unit statewide.  We're a very close-knit group and currently have a small backlog.
