Two vacancies have been posted to USAJOBS for entry level firearms/toolmark examiners. These vacancies are in the Toolmark Group of the Forensic Operations Unit of the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC). You must pass a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) background check, and sign a document indicating your agreement to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama when the new TEDAC lab opens at the Redstone Arsenal (projected for August 2015). The work will primarily be in toolmarks, although occasional firearms submissions are anticipated. The work product is anticipated to be primarily related to intel and national security, but since any terrorism case may become a criminal case, all examiners will be trained and qualified for courtroom testimony.
