Advanced Ballistics Instructor sought for employment as a civilian contractor in Erbil, Iraq for the Iraqi Criminal Evidence Laboratory System.

Advanced Ballistics Instructor trained to competency to provide lecture and practical exercises for two (2) 4 week courses to achieve the following course objectives:

•   Proper methods for developing, recovering, and documenting firearms and tool marks evidence.
•   Theory and instrumentation to include general microscopy and firearm ammunition and tool mark comparisons.
•   Laboratory photography techniques, trajectory reconstruction, serial restoration, and laboratory quality control/assurance.

Each course will be taught in English. Arabic and Kurdish verbal translations will be provided. Training will be conducted in laboratory setting with required instruments and consumables. Instructors will be required to create a training plan, to include the class curriculum, lesson plans, and/or a course syllabus. The course will incorporate lecture, lesson reviews, practical exercises, instructor-led discussion, and written biweekly student progress review reports in a team-based learning environment. Before, during, and after each course, instructors will be expected to make recommendations that establish or refine training content and methods to better fulfill mission requirements.

Requirements:  have Associates Degree with at least four (4) years of experience as a firearm and tool mark examiner OR six (6) years of experience as a firearm and tool mark examiner--those with instructional experience in the field preferred; be a highly qualified firearm and tool mark examiner; familiarity with the SOPs and quality assurance standards as outlined in ISO 17025 and ASCLD LAB guidelines desired; have intermediate level competency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook); be able to work well in a team environment; possess excellent organizational skills;  be physically able and willing to rotationally deploy to Iraq for the course lengths noted above; be able to obtain a passport; and attend pre-deployment training. Note: US Clearance NOT REQUIRED for this position.
