The VCSD lab is located on the county government center in the city of Ventura.   Ventura County is in the southern part of California's Pacific coast.  It is often referred to as the Gold Coast, and has a reputation of being one of the safest populated places and one of the most affluent places in the country.

Ventura is located along the scenic southern-most part of California's Central Coast.  Year round daytime temperatures average 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) so it's no wonder early Spanish settlers dubbed Ventura the "land of endless summers".  Abundant opportunities for recreation exist from the Los Angles sports and theater venues to the Los Padres National Forest and Channel Islands National Park.
