Rifling of grenade launcher
« on: February 05, 2012, 02:11:43 AM »
Hello all,

I am looking for information about the rifling of the 40 mm M203 grenade launcher.
The data I need includes:
- Manufacturer.
- No of lands & grooves.
- Twist direction (right/left).
- Min-Max width of lands/grooves.
I know it is not a small firearm, but if you have clearence to one and you can make the measurments. I would be most graitfull.

Hi Stojan,

The most important information is missing, the width of lands & grooves.
It is not shown in any technical paper. The only way to get it is to measure them in the weapon itself.

Finally, I got hold of two launchers.
The lands width range is 3.9-4.2 mm.
Similar to the measures done by william.
Thank you.

These are American made M203 launchers.
I was not aloud to take details as they belong to the military.
