The Oakland Police Department Crime Laboratory firearms unit has a rich history and was founded by John E. Davis (author of An Intoduction to Tool Marks, Firearms and the Straigraph). As in the day of John Davis there is an emphsis on continued development of the firearms and toolmark science. The casework in Oakland is both challenging and rewarding.
