 Ron Smith & Associates, Inc. is currently under contract with the Department of Forensic Sciences, Consolidated Forensic Laboratory in Washington, DC to provide subject matter expertise in Firearms Evidence Examination between now and the end of the 2013 calendar year. We are in need of two qualified firearms examiners to conduct Technical and Administrative Reviews of casework performed by the full time staff of the Department of Forensic Sciences. All work is to be provided at the DC Laboratory at 401 E Street SW and the work hours are confined to Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This project does not require actual casework be performed by the contract examiners but does require experience in the thorough technical review of casework. it is not expected that expert witness testimony will be required during or after the completion of the contract.  The contract allows for up to a total of 400 hours work be performed by each of two contract subject matter expert positions, but the work, or as much of it as possible, must be completed prior to the end of 2013.
The contract is grant funded and does not provide for travel expenses and Ron Smith & Associates is prepared to offer an hourly wage of $80.00 per hour of onsite work.
