New Louisiana Taxes
« on: March 28, 2016, 12:13:10 PM »
Unfortunately we have had some tax increases in Louisiana that will have a small affect on AFTE.  I'm posting here for everyone's convenience.  They are as follows:
For Orleans Parish the new combined rates (city/state) will be as follows:
 •             Rooms 14.00% - was 13%
 •             CVB Assessment on rooms 1.75% - no change
 •             Parking 13.00% - was 12%
 •             General merchandise 10.00% - was 9%
 •             F&B (meals in Restaurants) 10.75% - was 9.75%
 •             Occupancy Tax $3.00 per night – no change

There are two certainties in life: death and taxes.  In New Orleans it's 10%.  I guess they get you comin' or goin'.
