2016 AFTE Eastern Regional
Hosted by: FBI Laboratory, Firearms/Toolmarks Unit

28254-0

afte@ic.fbi.gov

As mentioned last year, we've planned another exciting Fall Training Seminar!

Thursday, October 13, 2016
Training Facility, Fredericksburg, VA

Friday, October 14, 2016
Outdoor Range/ FBI Laboratory, Marine Corps Base Quantico

Please note that as a result of the excellent turnout we have had the past few years, we've changed the conference location to an off-site facility in Fredericksburg, VA. This facility is conveniently located off the 95 corridor, and offers more lodging and dining options than in previous years.

If you are interested in attending, or have questions regarding this event, please contact afte@ic.fbi.gov

Thank you.

With the recent approval of the DOJ-ASSTR document and WH-PCAST report, the agenda for the AFTE Eastern Regional meeting will provide a summary, discussion opportunities, and action steps that are being addressed by the FBI Laboratory. Registration for the AFTE Eastern Regional (10/13-14/2016 hosted by FBI Laboratory-Firearms/Toolmarks Unit) is still open and more information can be found in the Training Seminar posting or by emailing afte@ic.fbi.gov.

For those that are unable to attend, would it be possible to obtain a copy of the action steps that are being addressed by the FBI?

I agree with Richard, it would be informative to have access to the FBI Validation of 3D Technology presentation, in addition to the 3D Surface Topographic Analysis presentation.  These are subjects/topics that cropping up in defense testimony - 2D versus 3D examinations/analysis.

Thank you.
