The Job is now posted on the City of Calgary Careers website and closes this Friday. The following link should take you to it.

The City of Calgary will soon be posting for an experienced Firearms Examiner to join a great team at the Calgary Police Service Forensic Firearms and Toolmark Laboratory. This is a heads-up as the Job Posting will have a fairly quick closing date once it opens (I will post a link on the forum at that time).

Calgary is a diverse and prosperous city in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. In 2018, Calgary rose to become the 4th most liveable city in the world by The Economist Intelligence Unit. With more days of sunshine than any other major Canadian city and less than an hour's drive from the majestic Rockies, it's easy to see why Calgarians enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle. It's more affordable to live in Calgary than in many large North American cities. Alberta is the only province in Canada without a sales tax and Albertans' provincial health care insurance is free.

You will be working in a new state-of-the-art Firearms Lab, which is currently under construction, as well as attending scenes to perform shooting reconstruction on a regular basis.

If you are interested and have any questions please contact me direct at dbarr@calgarypolice.ca or (403)428-4213.
