Had a request from another agency regarding the compatibility of a 22 round 5.7x28mm S&W M&P 5.7 with a Ruger 57LC. As we don't have either of those guns in our reference library I was wondering if anyone is able to verify this for me please.
They have said it's a Ruger 57LC semi-automatic pistol so am making the assumption it is the 57LC Charger.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy
Are you referring to magazine interchangeability?
I have a Ruger 57 Pro Model in 5.7 x 28 (it has a 20-round magazine) but not a S&W M&P.
Best Regards

Thanks Paul,
Yes they are looking if the 22 round magazine for the M&P will work in the Ruger.

Hi Andy
I will call my local dealer and ask if they have a Smith & Wesson M&P in 5.7 in stock - if so I can take mine there to see if the magazines are interchangeable.
Best Regards
Paul

Thanks Paul, I really appreciate the help. Not too many 5.7's down here in Oz!

Hi Andy
I went to my local gun shop today with my Ruger 57 5.7 x 28 - they have a Smith & Wesson M&P 5.7 x 28 in stock.  I tried the S& W M&P magazine in the Ruger - it does fit into the magazine well, however it does not "lock" into place since it is slightly longer than the Ruger magazine.  The Ruger magazine however does not fit at all into the S&W M&P magazine well since it is too big.  See photos below - apologies for the bad photo quality - I took them with my iPhone.
I hope this help.
Best Regards
Paul
