The City of Oakland CA is seeking qualified individuals to fill four Criminalist II (Forensic Firearms) vacancies within the Oakland Police Department, Criminalistics Division.  This is a journey-level professional civilian position in the Crime Laboratory's Firearms Unit.  The laboratory is ANAB accredited and meets ISO 17025 standards.

Applicants who have completed comprehensive Firearms Examiner training and have independent firearms casework experience should apply for the Criminalist II selective certification position. Applicants who have journey level non-firearms forensic experience that are looking to move to the firearms discipline should apply under the general Criminalist II position.
