- Training to be conducted in Belleville, IL. Permanent assignments TBD. Six (6) open positions. CLOSING DATE - October 11, 2022.
The Illinois State Police, Forensic Sciences Command, is looking to hire Forensic Scientist Trainees who will be trained to specialize in the area of Firearms / Toolmarks. This position participates in the Firearms and Toolmarks Training Program and completes assigned work assignments that prepare the employee for advancement into the role and responsibilities of a Forensic Scientist. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their academic knowledge, and any applicable experience, to develop and demonstrate their outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills that are required both within the laboratory and outside, during constant interaction with co-workers, laboratory staff members, and personnel from law enforcement and the court system. Forensic Science is a discipline that is recognized and applicable on an international basis, and allows for ongoing growth, specialization, and advancement.
