SAVE THE DATE!

This year's Midwest Firearm Training Seminar will take place in St. Louis, MO hosted by the St. Louis County Police Crime Laboratory in partnership with St. Louis University at Il Monastero Conference Center.

October 4-6th

Day 1: Full Day Lecture/Presentations
Day 2: AM Lecture/Presentations & AM/PM Manufacturing Tours
Day 3: Manufacturing Tours

A full itinerary will be available closer to the date as we line up presenters and confirm manufacturing tours and times. At this time we are unsure if there will be a virtual attendee option. Current anticipated tours are Olin/Winchester and Sunnen Products Co.

Please see the attachment for details. Registration for the seminar is already open and you can click the link below to register. We hope to announce and have registration for manufacturing tours open by AFTE in May. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ca8ad2ba5fcc70-2023#/

Once again, this will be a free seminar for attendees and vendors outside of travel costs;  in order for these seminars to be a success we need presenters and attendees. Lunch is not provided but you will be surrounded by excellent St. Louis foods.

We are currently looking for presenters and topic submissions. Examiners and presenters volunteer to present on various topics including, but not limited to, interesting cases, new technology and methodology, changing legislation, research projects and validation studies, and so on. Presentations can range from 15 minutes to 60+ minutes.

This year we would also greatly like to find a presenter(s) from labs who have implemented Cadre, Evofinder, and Quantum to briefly discuss their experience with such like why they chose the vendor they did, their validation process and implementation, how it has helped/not helped them, strengths, weaknesses, opinions, case load, # of examiners, and so on.

Please reach out if you would like further information on this years Midwest Seminar or for more information on presenting.

Hi all! We are still looking for potential presenters for the 2023 Midwest Firearms Seminar. If interested shoot me an email, twilson3@stlouiscountymo.gov

This is a great opportunity to present your research or other topic in a smaller and laid back environment.

If you would like to attend the seminar, the link is embedded above to sign up. This is a completely free seminar, no registration/attendance fees. Sunnen and Olin Winchester are two verified tours we will be offering. The sign up for manufacturing tours will not go live until end of May.

Sign-Ups are now LIVE for the Manufacturing Tours that will be included as part of the 2023 Midwest Firearms Training Seminar!!!!

Click the link below to register for the seminar and secure your spot for the manufacturing tours. Tours are limited.

While we know this is a firearm training seminar, many firearm labs/examiners still perform shoe & tire comparisons. We have an excellent rapport with Belleville Boot and they give a fantastic tour so they are one of the tour options.

Couple of things to note:
1. The seminar is not providing transportation or shuttle to/from the manufacturing tours. Please ensure you will have access to a ride or vehicle when signing up for the manufacturing tours.
2. You must be a US citizen to sign up for the manufacturing tours.
3. Olin-Winchester requires the names of all attendees 2 weeks prior to the tour date to get confidentiality agreements in place and visitors will need to bring a US ID and sign a visitor agreement upon arrival before entering the plant.
4. All tours are within 30 minutes or less from the Drury hotel and seminar location.
5. Note that if you wish to tour Sunnen in addition to Olin-Winchester or Belleville Boot make sure you do not sign up for tours occurring on the same date/time. Tours will be broken down into smaller groups once on location.

St. Louis County Lab is still looking for a few presenters. If you would like to present please reach out!

Just a heads up that there are only 4 remaining slots available for the Olin-Winchester tour at this time, for Thursdays date.

We have started a wait list for Friday and will do the same for any of the other tours should they fill up.
Please email twilson3@stlouiscountymo.gov if you wish to be added.

For those labs who still perform shoe and tire impressions we are offering a Belleville Boot Tour also and it is a really great tour!

The cutoff to book your hotel room for the Midwest Seminar is September 1st. After Sept. 1st they can no longer guarantee the per diem rate or a room available.

That being said, PLEASE make sure you booked your room under the hotel link provided. We have to meet a minimum number of nights stay or we will owe the hotel money  :o  Currently we are at 1/3 of that and I know there are 2x as many people from out of town registered. If you need to know if you booked the hotel correctly please don't hesitate to send me a direct message and I can let you know.
