BATFE Serial Number Restoration Training
« on: December 06, 2023, 01:31:25 PM »
I would like to get the two NIBIN Technicians at the Unified Forensic Laboratory in Englewood, CO trained in serial number restoration in 2024 but need to keep the cost as low as possible. Is any laboratory hosting serial number restoration training with two available spots and if so, can you let me know the course dates and location. The closer to Colorado, the better. Thank you in advance.

If you contact Jodi Marsanopoli she can tell you what is scheduled for next year.

Thank you. I already have to see about hosting a course ourselves. I'm just trying to look at all our options.

Carey - I have two people that would attend, as well. If you're at all thinking of hosting the class yourself, please count 2 from JeffCo!

I don't know if we have enough fume hoods in our Firearms Unit for four attendees, but I will definitely consider it. Thanks for letting me know.

Carey - I can also send a few for this training, but I would also be happy to host.  I can reach out to Jodi and see what she requires but she has hosted this class in hotels during AFTE so I think if you just have a well ventilated area, you should be good - but I will double check with her.

Awesome. Let's plan on hosting a serial number restoration course in 2024. The fume hoods would be our limitation. The UFL has one or two fume hoods in each unit, but only one in the Firearms Unit.  We can purchase the serial number restoration chemicals and each student can be responsible for bringing ten firearms.

I have three that I need to get trained up!  This would be amazing!
