Anticipated Firearms Examiner vacancy in Colorado
« on: July 09, 2024, 12:58:08 PM »
Hey all!!

The Unified Forensic Lab just outside of Denver, Colorado will have a vacancy for a Firearms Examiner / Firearms Unit Technical Leader at the end of July. If you’re interested and/or have questions, reach out – ofelix@araphoegov.com or 720-845-1558. I’ll post all the specifics of the job duties/qualifications once it’s officially posted by the Aurora Police Dept. but here are some highlights –

Pay range: $87K - $137K with an anticipated hire pay of approx. $109K (depending on experience)
Location: Unified Forensic Laboratory in Englewood, CO which is about 30 min southeast of downtown Denver
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree / 4 years of experience as a firearms examiner in a forensic lab
Preferred (but not required): 2 years of experience as a technical leader or supervisor

This lab is a great place to work due to the awesome people, it’s small size, relatively small backlog and flexible schedule…and who can beat living year-round near the Rocky Mountains! Come the end of July the unit set up will be one fully trained firearms examiner, one firearms examiner trainee (training almost complete) and two NIBIN technicians.
