3D printed frame with Serial Number Laser Defacement
« on: October 31, 2024, 02:00:50 PM »
I received a 3D-printed frame with a Taurus G2C slide and barrel. The serial number appeared to be defaced by a laser with the same pattern on both the slide and barrel. Possibly sold via a third party?? The use of the same slide and barrel on a different frame could potentially cause issues in NIBIN.

Looks like a different pattern, but same idea as these.

It is pretty common to use a slide and barrel from a "legit" gun manufacturer on a PMF (kit or 3D printed).  We put the make and number on the slide and barrel of a firearm in our reports with these cases so our customer has as much information as possible.
