Need ideas for research project

ForensicsCSI:
I currently attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and will receive a masters degree in Forensic Science in December of 2006.  I want to focus my research project that I will be working on from July until December in the area of firearms, as this is the area that I would like to gain as a specialty after I am done with my masters.

I have a few ideas floating around - but I really want to do something different, something that a ton of people haven't done or looked into. I am familiar with firearms as I grew up around them with my dad being an avid gun collector and shooter.

I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that anyone might have.  I have to turn in my proposal by the first week of July to the program director.
