The Police Department is currently seeking highly qualified individuals to fill a vacant Firearms Technician position, grade P-17, in the Firearms Examination Unit (FEU).

This is a technical support position assigned to the Firearms Examination Unit.  The incumbent receives firearms-related evidence submitted by law enforcement personnel, conducts data entry and limited analysis.  Work assignments require knowledge of the Personnel Law, Departmental General Orders, the Standard Operating Procedures of the Firearms Examination Unit, general computer skills for data entry and the ability to communicate well with others.  The incumbent performs assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with the established performance standards.  The incumbent treats all personnel and personnel related matters as strictly confidential.
