SUPERVISING CRIMINALIST

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Laboratory located in Reno, Nevada is a full-service lab covering the Northern Nevada area. The Crime Lab has an immediate opening for a Supervising Criminalist. The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree in chemistry, molecular biology, criminalistics, physics, pharmacology, or a closely related field; AFTE Certification; and minimum of full-time five years of technical experience in forensic firearms comparison to include formal instruction, court qualified expert, successful proficiency testing chemical analysis; experience must have included three years of professional experience in a law enforcement crime lab or in a forensic laboratory; Supervisory Experience in a Forensic Laboratory preferably an ASCLD accredited Laboratory OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass a detailed background investigation prior to appointment. Annual Salary: $68,972 - $89,689 with an increase on July 1, 2007.
