Job Openings-Texas DPS

The Texas Dept. of Public Safety is announcing that they will will have vacancies for Forensic Scientist III (Forensic Firearms/Toolmark Examiners), effective Sept. 1, 2007. These vacancies will be located in DPS Crime Labs in Austin, El Paso, Garland, Lubbock, McAllen, and Tyler. Qualifications for the positions require a degree from an accredited college or university in physical/natural science, criminal justice or related field. A minimum of four years experience in a crime lab as a Forensic Firearms/Toolmark Examiner is required.

New salaries for these positions (with adjustments) will be effective September 1, 2007.

A career ladder is in place based on years of service with the agency.
