AFTE 2008 Summaries
« on: May 19, 2008, 07:03:16 PM »
I've made some arrangements to get pictures from the seminar this week since I couldn't attend.  The first batch are now online and a link to them can be found on the home page.

I hope to continue to be able to post summaries of each day when the pictures roll in.

Keep an eye on the home page for further updates.

Scott

Scott,
Thanks for keeping us "land-locked" folk  :( , who couldn't make the meeting, up to date on all the activities!

The last of the pictures from the AFTE 2008 Training Seminar are now posted on the AFTE home page.

Things were a little different this year since I didn't get to go to the meeting.  I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

I want to thank Jerry Petillo, the AFTE Photographer for taking all of the great pictures and forwarding them my way.  From looking through the pictures I can tell it was another excellent seminar!

Looking forward now to next year's seminar that will be held in Miami, Florida.  I will be posting more information on the 2009 seminar soon!

Thanks again Jerry!

For those of us who were not lucky enough to attend this year's training seminar, could someone please tell me where it was decided to hold AFTE 2010?

Thank you for all the pictures and keeping us all in the loop during the meeting!

Is there a paricular reason AFTE 2010 is only Sun - Wed (2nd - 5th) instead of Sunday through Friday?

I will be posting some additional pictures and a more in-depth summary of the 2008 banquet over the weekend.

I also have some preliminary info on the 2009 seminar to post.

Look for the updates sometime over the weekend or on Monday morning.

For those of you who could not make the conference, the below posts will give a summary of the speakers at AFTE 2008, the abstracts, and an image of the speaker. All of the speakers were great and deserve recognition for there presentations.

Much Thanks to Scott for making the pictures available to the membership via the web site.

Much thanks to Joe Rainone, On Thursday morning I was unable to make the technical session. All of the Thursday photos were taken by Joe. Additionally, Joe was a great partner and assisted with the photos at the banquet.  Thanks Joe!!!

Borescopes for Forensic Scientists
Ken Harrington
The primary goal of the presentation is to clarify which type of borescope performs the best in laboratory and in crime scene applications. I have run into this issue with AFTE Members on several occasions.
I graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and was commissioned as a Naval Officer with a Top Secret clearance. I have a Master’s Degree from the Executive Development Program at the University of Rochester and am the Market Manager-Shooting for Gradient Lens Corporation as well as a Technical Advisor to AFTE.
