Firearm/Toolmark Trainee
« on: November 22, 2009, 06:50:02 PM »
My name is Megan Jones and I will be graduating in May 2010 with my B.S in Forensic and Investigative Science and a minor in Sociology from West Virginia University. I completed a 420 hour internship during the summer of 2009 with the Delaware State Police Forensic Firearms Services Unit. While there I was able to test fire, compare cartridge cases and bullets using a comparison microscope, do serial number restorations, work with GSR, and complete case worksheets and reports. I am looking for a position as a Firearms Examiner Trainee.

Attached is my resume, and I would be happy to answer any questions upon request.

Megan,

At the present time there are no positions as a career trainee in the State of Connecticut in firearms and toolmark or crime scene services.  I have attached a link to the Ct. Dept. of Administrative Services that has postings of similar positions for training in the state.  It doesn't hurt to check it every so often to see if there have been any up dates.  I'm sure other State systems have a similar type of system.
