Darn, you beat me to it by 5 years

I thought I had the most amazing idea, to come up with a fairly impressive headstamp gallery and post it on the internet, looks like I'm 5 years behind yall.

http://www.gunknowledge.com/Ammunition/Headstamps/index.html

We should be ok, my focus is more on popular commerical ammo, I don't think I'm even gonna touch all the historical stuff you guys have cataloged.

Great website though.

Just a couple of things to maybe help you out:
the 7,62x39 on your site with "31" HS is Chinese; The 308 is Sellier & Bellot; and the 7.62x54R with the "21" HS is Hungarian. I haven't seen the .50 cal before.

Sweet, thanks, I've updated the site.

Anyone recognize the unknown .223 or 12.7x108?

It is possible that your 223 cartridge is Igman Konjic ammunition. I think they used this headstamp for export ammunition instead usually mark IK in latin or cyrillic.

I've looking into that and found it is indeed Igman DD, you're correct.  Thanks for the help, now the only unidentified headstamp is the engraved 50 cal.

Just a WAG:

"TE" is listed in Military Cartridge Headstamps Collectors Guide By Charles Conklin as Cartoucherie de Toulouse (French).  You can see a preview of the page in Google books.  Other websites list TE as French too.

The "S" is probably a metal supplier code.

"3.87" = a date of manufacture?
