Forensic Scientist III (Firearm and Toolmark Examiner)

Salary:

Table 1 Grade 67 - $3283 to $4003 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Primary Function:

Responsible for processing and examination of firearm and toolmark related evidence including serial number restorations; possible analyses for distance determinations; processing and entering items into IBIS; writing reports; responding to requests for technical expertise from submitting agencies; court testimony; other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited institution with a major field of study in the natural or physical sciences or a related field and four (4) years forensic laboratory experience.  See the announcement at www.bexar.org for more details.
