Citizens Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley Vacancy


The Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley, in conjunction with the Philadelphia Police Department and ATF, is seeking a fully trained and court qualified contract firearm and toolmark examiner to conduct forensic examinations in the area of firearms, toolmarks, fracture identification, gunshot residue analysis, serial number restoration, shooting incident reconstructions and NIBIN entries and comparisons.

The position will be located in the state of the art Philadelphia Police Department Firearms Identification Unit.  This is a federally funded grant full-time position.  The schedule of the contract is for a two (2) year initial commitment.  The examiner, based upon qualifications, can earn up to $75,000 per year.  

This firearm examiner will work on evidence associated with a joint Philadelphia PD/ATF violent crime reduction strategy initiative where cases are typically referred for Federal prosecution.  Philadelphia Police Department Firearms Identification Unit protocols shall be followed.
