Forensic Scientists apply the physical sciences to the investigation of crimes by performing laboratory analyses on physical evidence.  Incumbents could work in various facets of this classification.
This eligible list may be used for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

SALARY
$22.48 (minimum) - $33.63 (maximum) hourly / $46,758 - $69,950 annually.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 

• Bachelor’s degree in a natural science (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biological Physics, Forensic Science), criminalistics, or a closely related field.
• Two years of discipline-specific crime laboratory analysis experience (i.e., Controlled Substances, Evidence Processing, Forensic Biology, Latent Print Comparison, Toxicology, Trace Evidence, and Firearms Examination).
• An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
• Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
• An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.
